My name is Jack Taylor. I'm 13 years old and in seventh
grade. This year will be my third year on G Team and
I really enjoy it. I've been snowboarding for nine years
now, and it is my favorite thing to do. I started competing
in USASA competitions my first year on the team, and ended
up finishing ninth at nationals for Boardercross and 24th
for halfpipe. I went to Windells with G Team and finished
fourth in the Revolution Tour there. Last season went
even better than the previous one. I qualified for all
five disciplines at nationals, but injured my back in slopestyle
practice and was unable to compete. I hope this year
is even better.
I think I should be a team captain because I am a good role
model and leader. I would support the other riders at
practice and at competitions, and help them along the way.
I like to see other riders progressing, along with myself.
I've been riding with my brother a lot, who is five years
younger than me, and taught him many things along the way.
My participation in G Team events throughout the seasons has
been very high, such as snowboarding, skateboard training,
and dryland. I am looking forward to another great season
on G Team, and hoping that I will be chosen as a team captain.
